We started the month of October with the return of our public Fund Raising Planning Workshop (FRPW)!
We held our 12-hour FRPW online over three consecutive days and we were joined by representatives from the following organizations:
Adamson University
The Asia Foundation
A2D Project-Research Group for Alternatives to Development, Inc
Babaepreneur Global Incorporated
Community-Based Diabetes Educators Group (CBDEG)
Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies (PHILSSA)
TAO-Pilipinas, Inc.
We were glad to see a number of participants who also attended our Basic Course on Fund Raising #74, which was held the week before.
Ms. Pinky began Day 1 with an overview of the fund raising principles and the essentials that need to be in place before implementing campaigns. This is where the participants were introduced to the basic knowledge that every fund raiser must attain in order to begin their journey. The morning session also discussed how the whole team, regardless of their position or level, can contribute to the organization’s fund raising activities.
The afternoon session of Day 1 started with the planning steps and the participants were asked to accomplish the tools provided to help them develop their organizations’ FR Policies and Procedures and FR SWOT Analysis.
Day 2 continued with the discussion of the succeeding steps of the planning process. Ms. Pinky thoroughly discussed the tools provided to help the participants determine their organizations’ realistic 3-year fund raising target.
Ms. Pinky then shared different strategies on how to identify prospective donors. Another activity was conducted to assist participants to map out their fund raising constituents and segment their specific prospects.
The afternoon session provided an overview of the different fund raising strategies to acquire and upgrade donors. This section shared actual examples of campaigns along with the identified advantages and disadvantages of each strategy.
Day 3 focused on the discussion of the final step of the planning process: the development of their action plans. Before the end of the workshop, the participants were also given the time to share their personal fund raising concerns and questions with the Venture team and their co-participants.
Our heartfelt thank you to all our participants for your active participation and for sharing your insights, questions, and experiences! These contributed greatly to the quality and success of the workshop!
We hope that you found the FR Planning Workshop informative and worthwhile, and that you are now more excited and ready to raise funds for your organizations! Happy friend-raising!
