To help address the campaign sustainability and ‘donor fatigue’ challenges of many non-profit organizations, Venture for Fund Raising conducted a 1-day course, “The Art of Engagement: Donor Management” at the Corinthian Room of One San Miguel Building in Ortigas Center, Pasig City last June 27, 2024. Tagged as an advanced level course, this topic usually tops our survey on the most-needed courses of fund raising professionals and development workers.

The workshop began with an insightful review of the donor management fundamentals led by Ms. Pinky N. Medina, our Executive Director and lead facilitator. She emphasized the crucial role of donor management in the fund raising process, highlighting its definition, importance, and related concepts. Ms. Medina also covered essential tools organizations need for effective donor management, before delving into strategies for donor prospecting and acquisition.

Ms. Ania U. Quinto, our Program Manager, led the presentation on the integration of technology in donor management. She showcased various database management features, fund raising platforms, and AI tools that can aid nonprofits in managing their donor relations strategies and fund raising campaigns more efficiently.

In the afternoon session, Deputy Executive Director Ms. Kiel S. Fernandez focused on donor acknowledgment and recognition strategies. She also provided comprehensive insights, tips, and examples of donor stewardship strategies and guided participants on how to develop their own donor communications plan. Ms. Fernandez concluded the workshop with a bonus session on how to engage time-and-talent donors (volunteers), which was well-received by the participants.
