As part of the second set of our 25th anniversary workshops dubbed “The Science of Fund Raising,” Venture held a three-day Fund Raising Planning Workshop last October 9-11, 2024. This advanced workshop built on the foundation of our first set of courses, ‘The Basic Course on Fund Raising #76’ and ‘The Art of Engagement: Donor Management,’ which took place last June 2024.
The participants learned to develop fund raising action plans using tried-and-tested tools and templates, with examples tailored to their organizations’ specific needs and sectors. The workshop emphasized the importance of data-driven approaches, aligning with our one-day Fund Raising Monitoring & Evaluation Workshop held the day before, on October 8, 2024.
During the Fund Raising Planning Workshop, our Executive Director, Ms. Pinky N. Medina and Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel S. Fernandez shared the step-by-step process of crafting a fund raising plan and taught participants how they can break down their huge fund raising targets into more achievable goals.
The workshop began with a review on basic fund raising principles, ensuring participants have a common understanding of the fundamentals needed to be in place before fund raising can commence. Going into the planning proper, an overview of the external environment was shared then participants were taught to look at their current organizational situations, strategic plans, and their program projections and funding needs.
Succeeding sessions helped participants determine their target prospects and match these prospects with appropriate fund raising strategies. The final output of the 3-day workshop is a cohesive plan that places all of these strategies together in a timeline, detailing the necessary resources for implementation, as well as key indicators for success. Attendees were given handouts and templates, ensuring they had resources they can use when they go back to their organizations. Additionally, participants were invited for a complimentary 30-minute post-workshop consultation session to refine the initial plans they made during the workshop.
A heartfelt thank you to the following participating organizations for their enthusiasm and engagement.

De La Salle University
