Our Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Kiel S. Fernandez, shared valuable insights on fund raising at the Loyola School of Theology last February 7, 2025. She discussed 12 common fund raising myths and practical tips to help organizations navigate the world of resource mobilization effectively.

The seminar, hosted by the Loyola School of Theology’s Student Council - Development and Fundraising Committee,  brought together members of their network for an engaging discussion.

Beyond debunking fund raising myths, Ms. Kiel focused on faith-based giving, offering a quick overview of systems and processes that could support congregations, parishes, and religious leaders in their fund raising efforts. She also shared real-life examples and best practices from organizations within the faith sector.

She also emphasized the potential of religious giving in addressing development challenges and how it can be a force for global change. Building on this, our Program Associate, Ira Hachero, shared an alternative tithing model used by another religious organization, offering attendees a real-life example to draw inspiration from.

Our warmest thanks to the Loyola School of Theology and its partners for their enthusiastic participation. It was a pleasure meeting all of you!

Wishing you all happy friend-raising, and we look forward to working with you again soon.
